Create a new spreadsheet file.
Enter the data as shown in the image.
If you enter the formula =B3 + B4 correctly, it will add the two cells together to get 9

Divide: =B3 / B4

Task #2 - Copying Formulas
Modify the previous worksheet as shown in the image below.

Copy the range B6 to B9
Paste a Copy the range B6 to B9 in C6 to C9
- Place your cursor in cell B6
- Press and hold the <shift key>
- Use your down cursor arrow key and highlight down to B9
- Press <Ctrl><c> to copy the formulas

- move your cursor to cell C6
- Press <Ctrl><v> to paste the formulas
Paste to multiple columns at the same time
- Place your cursor in cell D6
- Press and hold the <shift key>
- Use your right cursor arrow key and highlight to the right to E6
- Press <Ctrl><v> to paste the formulas
Using Functions
A function is built in to the spreadsheet.
Spreadsheet applications have numeric functions that include:

The coloured cells will contain formulas.

Repeat / copy as required for the red and yellow formulas
Commission Calculations:
Notice the $ signs in the cell address. This will make the cell address an absolute address. When copied the address will not change, it will always point to the 5% commission rate.
SAVE AS SSCommission

- Place your cursor into cell B10
- type =sum( in the cell
- use your cursor key to move the active cell to B5
- Press and hold the <shift key>
- cursor to cell B8
- press the ) key
- press <Enter>
- the total should be in cell B10

- press =
- cursor to J5
- press *
- cursor to K1
- press <F4> function key
- press <Enter>
- the 5% commission should now be in K5
- this formula can be copied down for each salesperson
